THE Latte Training Academy is seeking 25 eligible individuals who want to get American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute certification through a grant made available to the CNMI Department of Commerce.
The classes will be held three times a week at Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe and will run from March 2 to May 31, 2015
Latte Training Academy board member Tina Palacios said they are moving quickly to begin the course.
âEligible participants will be able to take the course at no charge but participants will be required to invest their time in the successful completion of the course,â Palacios said.
This includes regular attendance at scheduled classes, engagement in the job shadowing component and passing the certification examination with a score of 70 percent or higher.
Palacios said the course will provide successful students with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Instituteâs Gold and Start certifications.
According to the academy, these certifications are globally recognized throughout the hotel and hospitality industry as a sign of professional excellence.
The course requirements are rigorous and will provide the participants with foundational skills and knowledge in all aspects of the hotel and hospitality industry and inculcate dedication and commitment â" traits that employers are seeking, the academy said.
Latte Training Academy secretary Arielle Buyum said they are excited to offer this course through the availability of a one-time grant through the CNMI Department of Commerce.
âWe have had tremendous success with our past graduates, with nearly 74 percent of our students who graduated in May 2014 either working or pursuing higher education,â Buyum said.
