(Press Release) â" The CNMI Department of Commerce sub-awarded a grant to a local non-profit through a Technical Assistance grant it received from the U.S. Department of the Interiorâs Office of Insular Affairs.
The grant under the Economic and Labor Enhancement Program is aimed at preparing the CNMI workforce with required skills and training to assist with the impending labor transition as a result of U.S. Public Law 110-229.
âA public service announcement was posted in both newspapers advising local non-profit organizations of the opportunity to apply for this grant funding,â said acting Secretary of Commerce Mark Rabauliman.
âAs a result of the announcement, the departmentâs evaluation committee agreed that the selected organization met the requirements set forth in the announcement. I am pleased to award the Latte Training Academy funding to offer their hotel and hospitality certification courses to eligible participants at no cost.â
The Latte Training Academy has been providing the globally recognized hotel and hospitality certification through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute through its partnership with the CNMI Public School System.
The availability of funding now allows the organization to offer the course to a wider segment of the population.
According to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institutes website, AHLEI is the premier source for the delivery of quality hospitality education, training, and professional certification that serves the needs of the hospitality schools and industries worldwide.
âI encourage interested U.S. eligible workers who wish to hone their skills in the hotel and hospitality sector to register with Latte Training Academy,â Gov. Eloy S. Inos said.
âThis opportunity could not have come at a better time considering the continuing increase of visitors to our islands. These types of opportunities are provided through the collaborative efforts by the federal government and the CNMI.â
To learn more about eligibility criteria for the program and to register, interested participants are encouraged to visit the Latte Training Academyâs website at www.lattetrainingacademy.com or email [email protected].
